An abbreviation for Societatea Euro Romana de Vinuri de Excepție, SERVE Winery is situated in the southern part of Romania. Being one of the eminent wine producers in Dealu Mare, renowned for its climatic conditions for grape cultivation, the history of Serve Winery dates back to the 1900s. In the 90s, not many international wine enthusiasts or businesses were aware of the potential of the winemaking business in Romania until 1993.
In 1993, a Corsican Count was spellbound by a book written by Hugh Johnson, which had detailed material about the viticulture in Romania, especially the prospective that Dealu Mare held for future winemaking businesses. He also learned a great deal about the traditional local variety of wine, the Fetească Neagră, and decided to capitalize on a winery situated in Romania after the descent of communism.
By the year 1994, about 54 hectares of vineyard was being planted with a variety of grapes, including the vintage ones. Serve Winery made its way into the social light when they created their very own dry rose wine and Cuvee Charlotte which was a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Fetească Neagră.
Now, the Serve Winery has about 68 hectares of vineyards which are exclusively devoted to producing fine quality red wines. However, you’ll also find a sparkling glass of white wines including Fetească Alba, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay in the Serve Winery estate.

The story of each glass of wine begins with the first grape harvest. With care and skill, we gather, from more than 68 hectares of vineyards, varieties dedicated to red wines. From Dealu Mare, called “Homeland of Red Wines”, we pick one by one the grapes that will fulfill their purpose in a glass of ruby wine. Also on these lands, varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Pinot Noir, Merlot, but also some of the white varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling de Rin, and Fetească Albă.
