Sinaia, or the Pearl of the Carphatian’s, is one of the oldest and famous mountain resort. located in Prahova County in Bucegi Mountains, 140 kilometres north of the capital Bucharest at an altitude of 767 m and 860 m, Sinaia boasts ski slopes at an altitude of 2,000 m, on the plateau of the Bucegi mountains. In 2019, Sinaia was named Romania’s Best Ski Resort third year in a row by the World Ski Awards, event which was hold in Kitzbuhel, Austria. It is both a touristic and a balneo-thermal resort. Closest Airports to Sinaia
Located in a beautiful mountainous region, at the foothills of the Bucegi Mountains , about 120 km from Bucharest and 44 km from Brasov, in the Prahova Valley. There are regular shuttle buses and trains between Bucharest (city or airport) and Brasov, with the journey taking between 2 and 3 hours depending on traffic and trains. From Brasov, you can take a bus or taxi to Sinaia, or if you’ve chosen to hire a car in Bucharest you can, of course, drive the whole way in comfort. Roads are good and you might prefer this if you are taking gear with you.
